At UGO we combine life changing volunteer experiences with life coaching for people who want to find clarity, more meaning, or a sense of purpose. This is anything but a traditional volunteer abroad trip. With pre trip, on trip and post trip programming, we zero in on what makes you tick or what is getting in your way, so you can get more from your life, all while connecting with and helping others.

This transformative experience is about giving back, taking powerful action, getting outside of your comfort zone, and achieving what you never thought possible.

After this epic experience, you will:

  • Gain more clarity on what you want in life
  • Connect to a greater sense of purpose
  • Know how to build community and authentic connections with others
  • Feel a huge sense of accomplishment and satisfaction
  • Experience a whole new lease on life
  • Enjoy increased confidence.

What you can expect:

You’ll embark on a powerful three-month process that features an abundance of learning, dynamic self-reflection, physical training, meaningful service, and deep connection with yourself, your team, and your greater purpose.

You’ll dive deep into self-discovery through structured group coaching and programming as well as during cozy fireside chats and shared meals.

You’ll work alongside our local partner The Association of Producers La Amistad (AsoProLA) on a project that will change their community – repairing homes of low-income families. AsoProLa creates development alternatives for the communities surrounding the Biolley District, guaranteeing the conservation of the natural resources of the La Amistad International Park (PILA) and of the local communities.  As a team, we will learn about their current programs and what the community needs most. From there we will develop a long-term plan to support them when we return home. You’ll be truly changing the lives of those in need ~ and there’s no better feeling than knowing you are making a real difference.

Volunteer Experience in Costa Rica

UGO's partner charity in Costa Rica is The Association of Producers La Amistad (AsoProLA) who create development alternatives for the communities surrounding the Biolley District, guaranteeing the conservation of the natural resources of the La Amistad International Park (PILA) and of the local communities. At the moment in Costa Rica tourism is a great product, nevertheless the greater beneficiaries are only the populations in the two coasts, leaving the small rural towns with little profit. Consisting of 72 associates and more than 200 beneficiaries, AsoProLa works with different productive activities generating social, environmental and economic development for the local community.
